2D Echo

A 2D Echo (short for 2D Echocardiography) is a non-invasive heart test that uses ultrasound waves to create real-time, two-dimensional images of the heart. It helps doctors see how well the heart and its valves are functioning.

Why It’s Done:

  • To evaluate symptoms like chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, or fainting
  • To detect heart attacks, congenital heart issues, or valve disorders
  • For pre-surgery evaluation or post-heart surgery follow-up
  • As part of routine cardiac check-ups, especially in people with high blood pressure, diabetes, or other heart risk factors
