Ambulance

An ambulance is a vehicle equipped for the transportation of patients who require urgent medical care or need to be taken to a healthcare facility for further treatment. Ambulances are typically staffed by trained emergency medical technicians (EMTs), paramedics, and sometimes doctors to provide care during transportation.

Features of an Ambulance:

  • Medical Equipment:

    • Oxygen tanks and masks to assist with breathing.
    • Defibrillators (AEDs) to treat cardiac emergencies.
    • Stretchers and backboards to safely transport patients.
    • IV fluids and medications for immediate administration.
    • Airway management devices (such as intubation tubes) for patients requiring breathing support.
  • Communication Systems:

    • Two-way radios or satellite phones to maintain constant communication with hospitals or dispatch centers.
    • Mobile computers for sharing patient information with receiving healthcare facilities before arrival.
