Paediatrics (or Pediatrics in American spelling) is the branch of medicine that deals with the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents—from birth up to 18 years of age (sometimes even up to 21, depending on the system).

Main areas in Paediatrics:

  • Neonatology – care of newborns, especially those who are premature or ill
  • General Paediatrics – everyday health care and developmental checks for children
  • Paediatric Infectious Diseases – managing illnesses like measles, mumps, or meningitis
  • Paediatric Cardiology, Neurology, Oncology, etc. – focused care for specific organs or conditions
  • Immunization and Growth Monitoring – ensuring proper vaccinations and tracking physical/mental development
